What is Dev BitZ?
Hey! My name is Ryan (Master Blud) Owner and Head Editor at VVGtv.com. We also have a YouTube, did you know that? Anyways, I have something of interest to my Indie Developer Friends. We would like it if you, send us up to a 25 minute video at the least, on your game, whether it be in beta/aplha/released. The video has to show mechanics, gameplay (preferably a lot), voice over while playing describing your game while playing (our viewers love commentary). The videos you send us will be featured on our channel as Dev BitZ, a new series where developers show off their games to the world!
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU!
-The video must be in at least 720p
-Intro (Hey all, I/WE am/are yourname/studioname and this is our game _________________, and welcome to Dev BitZ.
-End the video with a way for the watchers to contact you or where to buy the game when it comes out, make sure to include the platform you are playing on!
-If you have a kickstarter, let them know about that too!
-When sending these videos, you can either tell us that you approve of us monetizing the video. or If you do not approve, your video will still be submitted. (either way, it will be reviewed)
-Lastly, send all of this to pr@vvgtv.com
We will review each video and get back to you as soon as possible!
Thanks and let’s see those games!
Indies at first Sight: The Last Door
The Last Door, this adventure either stops in its tracks or keeps you on your toes. I am not one for horror games. So even though this game says it is a horror game, I do not feel the need to jump up on a chair like a pansy. I love the art style the developers chose, just to be an almost simple point and click adventure. The music is a nice touch, mixing a Alfred Hitchcock and other keen aspects of horror music. The gameplay is bland at times and feels like is missing a lot. Although this title does not hold your hand, a little hint here and there would have been suffice. The way the game pans out, makes it all worth the while to play. In all honesty, I tried to like this game as much as I could. It has potential and for being an episodic game, it really stands out. Altogether, The Last Door gets a 7.5/10. It should have been released as a digital copy on Desura instead of being a flash title on their website. The fact that the first episode is free, bothers me. I appreciate developers who take the time to make games we may or may not enjoy. The effort is great. They were in their right mind to get the game off the ground to at least let you play a bit before you decided to buy episode 2. The Last Door should have been, in my opinion on game clients like Steam and Desura. Interested in The Last Door? CHECK IT VIA THEIR WEBSITE.
P.S. Keep an Eye on our Quick BitZ section on our YouTube for upcoming gameplay of this title

Slender: The Arrival Review
PC Game
$10
By: Daizoren
Perhaps the most anticipated horror game of the year, Slender: The Arrival has to fill the shoes of the original Slender: The Eight Pages in an attempt to scare players in a way that the original never could. With Blue Isle Studios and Parsec Productions working in conjunction, do they achieve this hefty feat? Or does Slender: The Arrival lose it’s effect in a market that is saturated by wanna-be clones? Ravaged Review (PC Indie)
So, I was tempted to play this game for a while since the beta. I didn’t want to play the beta, so I didn’t. For the reason that I don’t like to help with the development process if I am to review the game or am anticipating on reviewing the game. So anywho, I just got a new PC for both my gaming and video editing needs. Low and behold, I have found some really great games. But does Ravaged really hold up to the hype it had before release? Let’s continue.
As bad as this may sound, Ravaged needs some serious work. Even for a PC indie game, the game is setting the limits a little too high. For example, I swer it, even with a great graphics card and up to date hardware/software, this game ran like it was straight out of a PS1. Lots of framerate drops, even on the lowest of settings, which in my opinion killed the game right off the bat.
The characters in the title menu and even the trailer, look nothing like that in the game. Instead it feels like a cheap version of a Borderlands/Fallout/Call of Duty nonsense. Both the Keyboard/Mouse and Xbox Controller controls were horrible. The vehicles were the most atrocious to control, either you make it like Halo controls, or make it your typical race car/helicopter controls. This made experience less pleasing and every time I booted up the game, I quit shortly after. Onto the multiplayer aspect; I gave this game a try over and over again and saw how many people were on and what time of the day. The player count kept diminishing until there were hardly any more players even at the peak of the day. The fact that this game is Multiplayer ONLY, also killed the fun out of it.
Final Conclusion:
Although this game could have been as great as the trailer portrayed it to be, I am going to give this game a 2.5 out of 5. This game needs a lot of work and should have stayed in beta for longer than it did. I would not recommend getting this game at the current price of the review $24.99. Instead, it needs to be a free-to-play with microtransactions (shudder, I can’t believe I said that) or $9.99 with all the do-dads and what not. This game is not that enjoyable. This game needs a serious overhaul of fixes. If you feel like giving it a shot, head on over to Steam and purchase it, HERE.

As time slowly ticks away, we don’t seem to be getting any closer to any information regarding the release of Half-Life 3, but to help ease some tension, a fan made remake of Half-Life has just arrived on the scene after years of development. Watching as this project has been completed has felt like forever at times, but was the wait for this ambitious remake worth it? (more…)
Squid Grips for Xbox Controllers (Review)
We here at VVGtv have always been interested more than just indie games, and arcade titles. We have had contacted a few people regarding products we were interested in. Myself, I don’t like anything that is attached to my controller. But I started seeing more of these “Squid Grips” which are for your controller to help increase your grip on your controller. Now I am all for controllers with grips right on them, such as Mad Catz, they usually make the controller look pretty good. But with some Mad Catz controllers I have had the occasional issue with response time and sticky buttons. So I usually stick with my actual Xbox Controller.
So I had inquired about “Squid Grips” and I have to say, I am amazed at how much of a difference they are compared to a controller that has grips on them. For the price it is at $14.99, seems like they are trying to help their fellow gamers. So I continued to apply them, which is fairly easy and really hard to mess up even if you don’t put it right on the line. They make my controller look sexy. But looks aren’t everything, how do they feel? They felt like a pillow for my hands. As someone who plays 24-30hrs a week of games, this was an immediate comfort for my hands. They are even there as sort of a stress/massage ball where you put your palms on. If you end up getting them, instead of getting angry at the game, try squeezing the controller. I honestly felt immediate relief and continued playing with less aggravation than I had previously due to that motherf*cking camper. I am not much of a fan for add-ons for game controllers. But it seems, even though this is a “APPLY ONCE” situation, it is worth your consideration.
Pros
Clean
Hardly noticeable when holding
Instant Stress Ball
Cons
If you take it off, more than likely you will not be able to reapply it anywhere else. So try not to break your controller.
