Are Dragons vs. Witches the new Pirates vs. Ninjas?

By: ShadowKingpin

Webelinx has published a new game compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch, which revolves around a little dragon who suddenly hatched out while an evil witch tried to make a potion out of him. This game can provide users hours of entertainment and can be downloaded from iTunes at this link:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/air-draco-flying-dragon/id497916859?mt=8

“Air Draco” gives users the task to rescue this baby dragon from the witch’s doomed cave. On their way users will encounter lots of challenging obstacles and attacks of the evil witch and her minions. To make the game even harder, little flying dragon has to be fed with bats and spiders or he will run out of energy. But there are also some features of the game that serve in users’ favor. There are lots of power-ups and fire rides that help users save Draco. Great graphics, amazing design, funny and cute characters, interesting storyline and addictive gameplay can provide users a lot of fun and amusement.

Shorty iReviews: Nyan Cat Adventure and Yarnaby

Nyan Cat Adventure

By now, everyone knows who Nyan Cat is. Not even 1 year later of it being created by PRGuitarman, the lovable Poptarted, Rainbow Poopshooting cat made its debut in the gaming world. Bringing you Nyan Cat Adventure. I am reviewing this title for the multiple platforms of iOS version and the XBLIG Version. They both play very similiar, as they only use one button to play the damn game. NCA is just outright ridiculous. Be warned, this game is not for people who have problems with those flashy lights or motion sickness. The game puts a challenge to your reactions and how well you are able to concentrate on your path. The use of pills in-game effect how your game looks, and sometimes makes it hard to concentrate on where you are going. There are many different types of game types, the most important of game types is the Party mode. The party mode mixes up everything so you don’t get bored with the same gameplay over and over. I give Nyan Cat Adventure a 4.5 out of 5. Not just because I like cats, but this game is just outright ridiculous enough to keep you occupied for a while.

Yarnaby

The simple world of maze games. This title certainly seems to be missing a lot. That’s because it is. Nothing in this title really seemed to keep my interest. Everything felt repetitive, annoying and most importantly inaccurate. The ugly UI made me want to just break my iPod upon reaching the end of each level. The choice the developer made of having no type of music at all, not even a crescendo sound when closing near a wall, was disappointing. The fact that you play as a piece of yarn is the only good thing to this game. The level designs seemed like they were just thrown together in the matter of a few hours. There is a mirror world, which is the same exact stages, but mirrored. Not really a fan of the mirror stages or even the original stages. I couldn’t keep playing this title. Altogether it gets a 1.5 out of 5. It needs a major update and a little more flavor.

A Developer in Plain Sight – Interview with Adam Spragg

VVGtv:Hey Adam thanks for taking the time to answer some very important questions that our readers want to know about.

Adam: It’s my pleasure! I love talking games and game development, and flattered that anyone would want to hear my opinions.

VVGtv: Alright, let’s get on with our first question. What is your history of gaming and developing?

Adam: I just turned 37 years old. On one hand, that is seriously pushing “old fart” territory, but it also means that I was alive to experience the birth and golden age of console and PC gaming. We got our first computer, an Apple ][+, when I was a young boy. I remember it came with two games: Castle Wolfenstein and RobotWar. The former got me excited about video games in general, and the latter eventually opened my eyes to the basics of programming.

I remained a PC gamer through my c (more…)

Radiangames Super Crossfire iOS Review

Click Banner to be brought to AppStore Link

From the ever popular studio of radiangames, one of my favorite indie game studios, they bring us their first mobile platformed creation. It’s basically the Xbox Indie Title Crossfire with more juice. When I say more juice, I mean one a hell of a leap forward in visuals and gameplay. I grew to love radiangames as I played their second title crossfire, this game will always remain my favorite as it just keeps bringing me back over and over again.

Super Crossfire on the iOS pays homage to the popular arcade title, space invaders (more…)

The Passing of an Era

By Daizoren:

Steve Jobs

As I’m sure everyone is already aware of, Steve Jobs, the Founder and innovator of Apple, has passed away. After years of battling Cancer, he died peacefully, according to his family, in his home. He was 56 years old and looked upon as one of the greatest inventors and creative minds of this age. Bringing technology to our palms, making our music easier to carry/sync and showing us the future of computer technology. I was raised on PC’s and, personally, I never could see the appeal of Apple computers. Even today I prefer using a PC over a Mac and I avoid them if I have the ability to just because I don’t have a preference for the layout, the control scheme and the Mac OS X as a whole. Regardless of this dislike, I can’t help but think about how nearly every piece of technology I use on a daily basis was somehow influenced or created in part by Steve Jobs. So this is the view of Steve Job’s life and legacy from someone who’s never owned a single Apple product.

HyperShip Out Of Control iOS Review

Developers’ Websites – Fun Infused and Third Party Ninjas
Developers’ Twitters – Fun Infused and Third Party Ninjas
iOS Marketplace Link – HSOoC
Rating – 5/5
Genre – Shmup/Dodge’emup

HSOoC as many of you may know, is from the Xbox Indie Games and WP7 Releases. It now has released on the iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone all for the same price, $1.00. That’s right, 1 motherf*cking dollar. The best dollar you would ever spend in your life for a mobile game. I for one enjoyed this Indie game when I played it on the Xbox, but everything seems to be improved here on the iOS. Hypership is a fast paced shmup/dodge’emup space game with various game modes and ships to play with.

The gameplay is super unique and difficult if you don’t know what you are doing. The object here seems to collect a big multiplier while trying to stay alive, the longer you stay alive the bigger your coin amount will boost. The multiplier has a cap of 5, for every 99 coins you collect, your multiplier jumps up another level. When you die, your counter is reset and you have to start the multiplier up again. You go through 10 waves, after those 1 (more…)
