If you have an undying love for independent games on Xbox, you may have debated with

are. Maybe this list will help you make your decision once and for all. Here’s our list of
the top ten-indie games to play for Xbox Live:

Note: Each BoxArt will bring you to the Marketlink

1. Soulcaster

If you like an old school retro RPG feel, you’ll definitely love Soulcaster (if you’re not
a fan already). Ruthlessly addictive and delightfully pixelated, Soulcaster reps the
80s while providing you with plenty of gameplay and content. An archer protects a
defenseless wizard as enemies jump out from sundry orbs that litter your map. The
archer is soon joined by a knight and alchemist earning more and more Soul Orbs. With
classic chiptunes and a throwback look, every indie gamer should have Soulcaster in
their collection.

2. Raventhorne

If you’re a fan of the Viking hero seeking glory kind of game this one is for you. Trapse
through 6 worlds to get to the end before the dreaded Ragnarok is unleashed. Combat is
full of unique challenges and the beautiful scenery is worth a pat on the back.

3. Dead Pixels

Dead Pixels

If you’re in the mood for an 8-bit, side-scrolling zombie thriller, Dead Pixels will
hit the spot. You may be sick and tired of zombie indie games, but Dead Pixels will
thrill you with RPG mechanics, grindhouse presentation, co-op play, and long-lasting
entertainment. The Return of the Living Dead references and rock-bottom price don’t
hurt, either.

4. Battle High: San Bruno

Battle High: San Bruno

The game plays a lot like the title suggests: a high-school classic fight with an old school
stylistic throwback. Props to the one-man operation that designed this game and to him
for producing updates based on player feedback. Shall we one day see the release of
Battle High: San Bruno II?

7. SpeedRunner HD

SpeedRunner HD

Must Defuse Bomb! The cool thing about this game is that you can go back and replay
levels with the tools you earn in the later levels. Time is of the essence with this super
hero shout-out.

8. Train Frontier Express

If you’ve ever enjoyed building a model train set, this is the game for you. Build away

9. Take Arms

Take Arms

This shooter game stands out for its graphics and sound effects. Set in a world where
two super powers have finally depleted their troops down to two sharp shooters, this
multi-player game is a single snipe to the end.

10. Cthulhu Saves the World

Cthulhu Saves the World

Gamers seemed to be pretty pleased with this game because it is both a fun game to
play and a funny game to play. The redemptive journey of the main character is ironic,
classic and creative all in one game.

  2. Lot of IGSU titles in that original list, but I agree with most of it. Might swap in Breath of Death VII for one of the other games, despite your inclusion of a Zeboyd title already. I still need to check out Escape Goat and Sequence as Dcon mentioned.
