“Indie Games Summer Uprising is Official!”
By: Mr. Deeke
Exciting news in the XBLIG and XNA Community today: the Indie Games Summer Uprising has been confirmed and is officially scheduled. The event is currently spear-headed by XBLIG journalist Dave Voyles, who’s an integral part of the XNA Community and does great work at a website called Armless Octopus, and the XBLIG developer Kris Steele who’s head of the Xbox Indie dev team Fun Infused Games.
“Our goal is clear: Just as the previous uprising had successfully done, we are raising consumer awareness and displaying some of the best and most diverse titles which the service has to offer to developers and consumers alike.
Andrew Currie, who developed the previous Indie Games Uprising site, was kind enough to let us use the site again. He will be leading the charge on the web development front, and plans on making a number of additions to the previous site, including a dedicated page for each title.“
The event still has a tentative schedule and is still accepting submissions and developers who are interested in the event can sign-up on the official webpage, and below interested parties can find information on the schedule and the current games that are nominated for inclusion:
June 27th – Absolute last day for nominees.
July 4th – Voting begins.
July 18th – Voting ends.
August 1st – Ideally you’ll be submitting your game into peer review close to this date.
August 22nd – Promo begins
